We network with hundreds of small businesses, have been commissioned to take images for them, regularly provide hints and tips on their photography and advice on the images they need to put together brochures, leaflets, websites and Powerpoint presentations. More and more business start ups, self employed and small businesses have their own digital cameras, having bought one for the convenience of being able to produce images quickly or because they are running on a tight budget which may prohibit the cost of commissioning a professional photographer.

Despite having a digital camera, however, the results have usually been disappointing and lack the sparkle and imagination of images taken by a professional photographer. In addition, most users leave their cameras firmly stuck on auto and whilst this can be fine for the most basic photography, limitations can clearly show when using these images in business literature.

It is absolutely essential to provide your customers with good visual images of what your business is about. If you are selling products, good, clear and concise photographs of those products can make or break your business. Equally, once you have taken the photographs, we have found virtually all business do not have the knowledge or skill to correct, edit and size the images for the purpose they wish to use them for. This lack of knowledge can seriously affect the final print quality of any literature and equally affect the smooth upload and running of a website.

Our one day training courses, restricted to a maximum 15 attendees, cover the basics of finding your way around your camera, the rules of composition, when to use or not to use flash, hints and tips for photographing premises, people and products and how to prepare your images for brochures and internet use. There will be lots of opportunity to practice the techniques learned as well as handouts that include additional information and advice.

Attendees can also join our password protected business photography forum for post training day support as well as upload some of their images to the forum for feedback from both members and YouNique. Our forum is a great way to meet other small businesses, swop ideas and network with each other.
